IDT - An expanding, facilities-based global network.IDT is a leading provider of wholesale and retail telecommunications services, using our own network infrastructure to route calls worldwide. At age 33, IDT's founder and CEO Howard Jonas pioneered what is now a multi-billion dollar a year call reorigination industry known as international "callback". This technology lets callers bypass the high costs of placing international calls from countries outside the U.S. With callback, users make international calls as if they were dialing from the U.S. Today, IDT offers telephone service to customers in over 225 countries worldwide. With our global switching facilities and fiber optic network, IDT is international in scope, with annual revenues over $1.8 billion, and providing more than 16 billion annual telecom minutes of use. We're also continually expanding our worldwide presence, employing 3,800 people, with offices in more than 17 countries on five continents.Utilizing agreements with top-tier carriers like MCI WorldCom, Cable & Wireless, Qwest, IDT continues to focus on routing telecom traffic to niche markets such as South America, the Caribbean, and the Far East. We have also signed international
terminating agreements to lower the effective costs of terminating and transiting traffic. IDT has received licenses in European and South American countries, where we have already established our own facilities-based network.IDT was among the few to anticipate the calling card "explosion" of the last few years, and one of the only companies able to channel, direct, and expand the calling card industry. Today, we're an industry leader in calling card distribution. We sell over 265 million cards worldwide every year, with sales of over $1 billion, and market hundreds of different cards designed to meet the needs and requirements of numerous companies, communities, and consumers. Our prepaid retail cards are available at over 350,000 points of sale worldwide, and we currently market over 250 brands. Our private label cards and private label rechargeable cards can be used for a variety of purposes, including company promotions, giveaways, incentive building, and special occasions. IDT is comprised of six distinct corporations: IDT, IDT Telecom, Winstar Communications LLC (doing business as IDT Solutions), IDT Media, IDT Entertainment and Net2Phone. IDT is a non-operating holding company and publicly held corporation. IDT Telecom, a 95%-owned operating subsidiary, oversees our carrier business, our calling card business and our consumer phone service. Winstar Communications LLC, doing business as IDT Solutions, is an alternative local exchange carrier for businesses in select buildings, providing local, long distance and high-speed Internet. 94%-owned IDT Media includes our radio, brochure distribution and corporate video services businesses. 94%-owned IDT Entertainment contains our innovative computer generated animation business. oting control over Net2Phone, a leading provider of Voice over IP phone services, although our equity position is approximately 20%. In February of 2001, IDT migrated from the NASDAQ to the New York Stock Exchange, a move that confirmed our status as one of the industry's premier competitive among long distance providers, and underlined our financial strength and staying power.
